Gap fill

Copies, gap and print style resize and space the design automatically. Gap fill adds ink in the empty stretches so the wheel rolls evenly: bars or diagonal strokes in the gaps, an underline, or lines along the edges.

Quick starts

Tap one, then make it yours. Each is already fitted around the wheel.

How the roller repeats
Your design wraps around a wheel, 150 mm per turn. It prints as an endless band.

How do the manufacturing checks work?

A roller stamp prints one endless band, so the wheel has to meet ink at a steady rhythm. Empty horizontal stretches wider than 5 mm print as bare patches and make the wheel skid, which is why the editor blocks them on the Rolly M, L and XL and offers to fit your design around the wheel instead. On the wider Rolly 3.0 you can still order a design with longer gaps, once you tick a box to accept that the wheel may dip into them and roll unevenly.A roller stamp prints one endless band, so the wheel has to meet ink at a steady rhythm. The editor marks what to look at in three colours, and a fourth on the Rolly 3.0. Red marks an empty stretch wider than 5 mm, which blocks ordering until it is filled. On the Rolly 3.0 such a stretch shows in amber, and you can order it once you accept it. Orange stripes mark lines thinner than about 0.35 mm and blue stripes mark spaces narrower than about 0.35 mm (about 0.56 mm with the One4all marker, whose ink spreads a little more). Inverted print inks the whole band and cuts your design out of it. The wheel then always meets ink, so gaps never need filling, and the orange and blue checks look at the ink between the cut-outs and at the cut-outs themselves. It costs the same as a standard print.

The design also has to fit its repeat. The band lengths are real circumferences: 150 mm on Rolly M and 3.0, 200 mm on Rolly L, 338 mm on Rolly XL, with 14 mm of printable width on M, L and XL and 30 mm on the 3.0. The editor keeps a 1 mm safety inset from the band edges. The design also has to fit its repeat. The band lengths are real circumferences: 5.9" on Rolly M and 3.0, 7.9" on Rolly L, 13.3" on Rolly XL, with 0.55" of printable width on M, L and XL and 1.2" on the 3.0. The editor keeps a 0.04" safety inset from the band edges.

Uploaded logos are checked for effective print resolution. Below 100 DPI at the placed size an engraving shows visible pixel steps, so the order is blocked. Below 250 DPI you get a softness note. The editor accepts PNG, JPG and SVG files and removes white backgrounds automatically. WebP, AVIF and HEIC pictures are turned into PNG where your browser can open them. An SVG is drawn at high resolution, so it never triggers the resolution check. Other vector files (.eps, .ai, .pdf) are welcome too: attach them on the product page and we lay them out for you.

None of this replaces the human check. We review every layout before production and send a free proof to approve, so nothing is engraved until you have seen exactly what will print.
